Cairns Committee Executive Summary to the Sister Cities Board

The Cairns Sister City photo exhibit will occur from Sept 26 to Oct 15 at the Tank Arts Centre in Cairns. We selected and submitted 20 photographs which have been previously shared with the the board. All the photographers have been notified and we have been contacted by the Scottsdale Republic who is interested in publishing the submitted photographs over the coming weeks.
I have been working with Lone White who is organizing this event and is on the staff of the Cairns Regional Council. She is very excited about the exhibit as all of Cairns' sister cities are participating. They are producing a B&W catalog with all the photos and photographers included; she will be sending us a supply of them...enough for each photographer and a few extra for our use. She will also send along a memory card or CD with all the cities' submitted photos. We may choose to do our own exhibit with them, but would need to print and mount them ourselves. Lone also confirmed that members of their local photography club are offering to host (home-stay) any photographers who might find themselves in Cairns during the exhibit.
