ARIZONA SWISS SOCIETY OKTOBERFEST

Scottsdale Sister Cities Association participated with the Arizona Swiss Foundation at an Oktoberfest on Sunday, October 21, 2007 in Papago Park in Phoenix, Arizona. There were approximately 190 people in attendance of which 35 had direct ties to the Scottsdale Sister Cities Association. The purpose of the event was to develop closer ties between the Arizona Swiss Society and SSCA, raise funds for scholarships and other support for the Arizona Swiss Foundation and SSCA. SSCA expects to receive a grant from the Arizona Swiss Foundation to help with the student exchange expenses between Scottsdale and Interlaken, Switzerland. There was a live auction and raffle. Bratwurst and raclette cheese were served for lunch. Scottsdale Mayor Mary Manross was accorded recognition as the host VIP.
